Juno- The movie

Juno - The Movie

Ellen Page stars as Juno (also the film’s title), a whip-smart teen confronting an unplanned pregnancy by her classmate Bleeker (Michael Cera). With the help of her hot best friend Leah (Olivia Thirlby), Juno finds her unborn child a “perfect” set of parents: an affluent suburban couple, Mark and Vanessa (Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner), longing to adopt. Luckily, Juno has the total support of her parents (JK Simmons and Allison Janney) as she faces some tough decisions, flirts with adulthood and ultimately figures out where she belongs.

Once Soundtrack

After hearing the first song on the soundtrack, Falling Slowly, I was in love with the tender Irish harmonies and the warm lyrics of the motion picture Once. I guess some fall slowly while others fall much faster than that. Once is a motion picture that received several awards at the 2007 Sundance Festival. It stars Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova who are musicians first and then actors. Hansard is the soundtrack album producer for Once and is
also lead singer in the band The Frames. You might recognize the two as the musicians who released an album together as The Swell Season. They have shown us in the past that they can produce an album that can do more in one beautiful song than what many others try to do in a two hour movie or a 200 page book. Just imagine then the power of a movie that stars them and reads like one of their albums. Originally they planned on selling the movie only at their concerts. Little did they know how popular Once would once become. The movie is not yet released, but the soundtrack came out last month. You can check out the some of the music as well as learn more about the film at the website http://www.myspace.com/oncethemovie

This is a clip of them performing a special acoustic of “Falling Slowly,” the first track on the album, outside at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival.
