Adam grew up in the outskirts of Detroit, MI, and fell in love with music at an early age. Some of his earliest memories include watching Top 100 countdowns on MTV back when they actually played music. Adam’s pension for eclectic music began in the mid 90s when bands like Our Lady Peace, Tonic, and Sister Hazel grabbed his attention. The world of independent music opened to Adam in college when a friend began introducing him to bands such as Mineral, Sunny Day Real Estate, Modest Mouse, and Jimmy Eat World. Living close to Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Grand Rapids afforded Adam the opportunity to attend more concerts than he could count (and usually more than he can remember). Adam is also quite proud of the two journeys he made to Chicago while in college to see The Gloria Record live. The second of those trips introduced him to both The Frames and Sleeping At Last. In recent years, Adam has come full circle, out of indie snobbery, and back to a point where he is willing to admit he likes music that is catchy, with solid lyrics, and even some stuff just because it has a good beat.
