Unclear Sky – new EP from Joshua Radin

Joshua RadinJoshua Radin has garnered a large following over the last couple of years by landing his songs in key spots on prime time television programs as well as two featured tracks on Zach Braff’s The Last Kiss soundtrack. In the past, Radin has recorded and toured with Schuyler Fisk, who is absolutely enchanting. For his new iTunes exclusive Ep, Unclear Sky, Radin takes a que from friend and fellow Hotel Cafe Tour artist, William Fitzsimmons, and teams up with budding starlet Ingrid Michaelson. The new EP is a teaser of sorts for Radin’s second full length which is due out summer 2008. This collection of four heartfelt indie pop ballads was a “must buy” for me, but Joshua Radin promises “I’m saving the best songs for the full record.”

Unclear Sky features three brand new songs as well as “Fear You Won’t Fall,” which was featured on Grey’s Anatomy, but was not previously released on any album. The EP leads off with a lovely duet between Joshua Radin and Ingrid Michaelson called “Sky.” Radin’s crooning continues on “Lovely Tonight,” with Catherine Feeny on backing vocals and featuring the guitar work of none other than Ryan Adams. Unclear Sky finishes up with the live demo version of “You’ve Got Growin’ Up To Do,” which many of you no doubt saw performed on Ellen via YouTube. (if not, see below)

Be sure to check out Joshua Radin’s MySpace page. Not only can you hear his music there, but he also has actual blogs and if you’re his friend you can read about his touring adventures through Bulletins that he posts. I can’t express enough how much I am impressed with Radin’s genuine efforts to connect with his fans in these ways.

Check out Joshua Radin and Ingrid Michaelson, as well as many other outstanding artists on the Hotel Cafe Tour when they come to a city near you.
